Ullapool (GB) - Faroe Islands (DK) - Reykjavik (IS)

11 May - 01 June 2019

Following the paths of the Vikings. This impressive passage will take you from Scotland to Iceland with some great stops along the way. You will step on board the Tecla in Ullapool and set course for the Outer Hebrides, Orkneys, Shetlands and the very remote Faroe Islands. Then you will sail the rest of the way on the Atlantic Ocean to Iceland before disembarking in the capital city of Reykjavik. Join this amazing 3-week expedition in late spring to make memories of a lifetime. Open to all ages, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Ullapool, despite its small size is the largest settlement for many miles around and a major tourist destination of Scotland. The village was founded in 1788 as a herring port by the British Fisheries Society. A few Cordyline australis or New Zealand cabbage trees are grown in the town and are often mistaken for palms. The harbour is still the edge of the village, used as a fishing port, yachting haven, and ferry port. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings here.

Reykjavík is the capital of Iceland. As you approach from the sea, you’ll sea a modern city skyline with snowy volcanic mountains in the background. Reykjavík is quite cosmopolitan, with plenty of culture and entertainment. Go for a night on the town, or find a tour that takes you to see the glaciers, geysers, and volcanoes for which Iceland is famous. Reykjavík’s climate is less cold than you’d expect. At Nauthólsvík you’ll even find a geothermically heated beach!
