Thalassa:
Oban (GB) - Le Havre (FR)

05 June - 16 June 2027

From 5 June onwards, Thalassa will spend twelve days covering approximately 700 nautical miles: from the heart of Scotland to the French city of Le Havre. This journey is a unique opportunity to wander from the Inner Hebrides into the Irish Sea and crossing the English Channel towards France. The first part of the journey offers countless opportunities to call at shore: secluded bays, small harbours and lively coastal towns. Then you’ll go further offshore, with longer passages across the open Celtic Sea, and on to France, where once again you will have the chance to visit beautiful locations.
Open to all Windseekers over 18 years of age.

Ports

Oban (meaning ‘little bay’ in Gaelic) is a small harbor town on the west coast of Scotland, famous for its whiskey distillery. The town occupies a beautiful setting in the Firth of Lorn, and is a perfect place to find shelter from the Atlantic. Walking around town is a pleasure, and close by you’ll find mountains, castles, dramatic coastal scenery, and McCaig’s tower that resembles the Colosseum. In the first week of August, the town plays host to West Highland week, a yearly sailing regatta.

Le Havre is a large north French maritime commercial and passenger port established in the early XVI century. The city in on the UNESCO World Heritage Site for its historical buildings and is considered a birthplace of impressionism. Walk in the steps of Monet and discover the places you know from modern art. Take a hiking tour, visit one of the nearby castles (chateau), the Graville abbey, see the hanging gardens or take a walk in one of the many city parks.
