Thalassa:
Scrabster (GB) - Oban (GB)

08 May - 15 May 2027

Sail along the rugged west coast of Scotland on board tall ship Thalassa. Spend a week voyaging from Scrabster to Oban, passing islands rich in nature, history and Scottish character. Join the crew in setting the sails, enjoy life on deck and, with a bit of luck, spot dolphins while the wind fills the sails. Make a call in atmospheric harbours, walk across green hills, visit ancient castles and (if you’re interested) taste whisky at its place of origin. No two days are the same as you sail, entirely dependent on wind and weather: exactly what makes this voyage so special.
Open to all Windseekers over 18 years of age.

Ports

Scrabster is a small town on the north coast of Scotland. Conveniently located on the Thurso Bay, the settlement dates back to the Vikings. Nowadays it’s a gateway to the Orkney Islands by ferry, and a bustling fishing port.

Oban (meaning ‘little bay’ in Gaelic) is a small harbor town on the west coast of Scotland, famous for its whiskey distillery. The town occupies a beautiful setting in the Firth of Lorn, and is a perfect place to find shelter from the Atlantic. Walking around town is a pleasure, and close by you’ll find mountains, castles, dramatic coastal scenery, and McCaig’s tower that resembles the Colosseum. In the first week of August, the town plays host to West Highland week, a yearly sailing regatta.
