Cascais (PT) - Tenerife (ES)

03 November - 15 November 2019

*Trainee placement: only 2 places available* Portugal to Canary Islands: sailing on the Atlantic. This voyage will take you from Cascais, close to Lisbon, to Tenerife in Canary Islands, off the coast of Africa. Since it’s a delivery journey, it’s all about sailing to your destination, instead of leisurely sightseeing. If you want to spend an intense time on board, working together with the experienced crew and gaining sailing experience, this is an adventure for you! Open to Windseekers aged 17-30 (other ages at request).

Ports

Cascais is a popular port town in Portugal with a large yacht harbor and several sandy beaches in and around town. Surfing, windsurfing, sailing and kitesurfing are popular in the region, and nearby cliffs are a great destination for a hike. The town proper offers everything you need to recuperate from your exertions: restaurants, taverns and all the urban sophistication you might miss when at sea. You can visit Lisbon from here for a day trip, but Cascais itself is also well worth a visit.

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, and a popular tourist destination. One of the largest Carnival festivals is hosted here, and for tourists there is a lot to see and do. But the island is large enough to escape mass tourism, so let its natural beauty seduce you to a hike or a drive around the island. You’ll find mountains to climb, cliffs overlooking bays, and ravines. The ‘Island of eternal spring’ is just what you need if you arrive fresh from your Journey!
