Aarhus is a port on the northeast coast of Jutland, Denmark. One of its main attractions is the open air museum Den Gamle By, where historical buildings from all over Denmark have been relocated. But the 13th century cathedral is also well worth a visit. Aarhus is a relaxed place with enough to see and do, and its city centre is a favourite with Tall Ship crews who visit the city regularly. West of the city you’ll find lakes and forests, perfect for a hike.
Programme Outline
Join an Erasmus+ International Youth Exchange. Step on board Dutch Tall Ship Wylde Swan in Aarhus and sail along the Danish coast, visiting Copenhagen and the island of Samsø before making your way to the final destination: Esbjerg. Every participant will receive a Youth Pass certificate, outlining what they've learned during the journey. This is a European Union officially-recognized document for describing skills and competences.
This unique sailing journey is a perfect mix of Sail Training and cultural programs. You will sail the Ship with other participants from several different countries. While the captain and his crew will teach you how to sail a Tall Ship, the mentors will make sure that everyone feels good on board and has fun participating in various activities related to sustainability and with a focus on the solutions and challenges of a circular economy.
