Morgenster:
La Rochelle (FR) - Scheveningen (NL)

24 June - 30 June 2018

Sail towards the Volvo Ocean Race Finish Line! This 6-day voyage will take you from La Rochelle to Scheveningen, also known as the Beach of the Hague. Once you’re in the Hague you must visit the Volvo Ocean Race village! Join the Dutch Tall Ship and her friendly and competent crew for a sailing adventure. You will have the chance to steer the Ship, learn navigation, hoist the sails and, if you want to, climb the masts. Depending on wind and weather you might make a couple of stops along the way and exprected to sail in total around 500 nautical miles. Enjoy life on board and get your sea legs before reaching your exciting destination. Open to Windseekers of 15 years and older.

Ports

La Rochelle is a coastal city on the west coast of France, with three ports offering shelter from the Bay of Biscay. See the three historic towers of the old port as the 16th century protestant corsairs would have, take a day cycling to the 'Île de Ré' bridge-connected island to explore the quaint villages. Popular with cruisers and tourists, the seafront is a place to wine and dine, enjoying the region's top cuisine.

Scheveningen is a popular sea resort in the Netherlands, a stone’s throw away from the seat of government in The Hague. It has a busy marina and a lively (somewhat kitschy) promenade – great for an afternoon of sightseeing. You’ll also find plenty to do nearby. Go for a walk in the dune landscape or take a tour around the Palace of Peace. Visit Madurodam to see the Netherlands rebuilt in miniature, check out the city centre of The Hague, or explore the beach and perhaps even go kitesurfing.
