Bark Europa:
Santa Cruz de Tenerife (ES) - Montevideo (UY)

29 September - 11 November 2016

*No places available anymore* A real oceancrossing from Europe to South America with Neptune’s visit. Santa Cruz de Tenerife – Cape Verde – Urugay. During your time at sea you’ll learn all about life on board. You’ll help set and trim the sails, do navigation and lookout duty, steer the ship and do odd jobs both on deck and below. But there’s also plenty of time for stargazing and staring at the horizon. Make new, lasting friendships with your fellow Windseekers, and exchange stories with the crew over a fine meal from the galley. Experience the magic of the night watch, when you are alone with the stars and the waves. It will be a Journey you will never forget. Open to all ages, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the shared capital of the Canary Islands, together with Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The central square Plaza de España is a real eye-catcher, situated between the ocean and the old, bustling city centre. Lose yourself in the crowded alleys, find a spot on one of the terraces, or leave town and discover the rugged volcanic landscape. The museum of Nature and Man is worth a visit. Chances are you’ll find pilot whales in the waters around Tenerife, so keep an eye out!

Montevideo is the capital of Uruguay, situated on the north shore of Río de la Plata, the arm of the Atlantic Ocean that separates Uruguay from Argentina; with Buenos Aires on the other side. Visit the Ciudad Vieja with the city's oldest buildings, several museums, art galleries and the Mercado del Puerto. Walk over the Rambla, a coastal avenue. Go to Fortaleza del Cerro for a view over the bay. Walk through the botanical gardens of parque Prado. Enjoy the beach (13 km) or Uruguayan tango.
