Oosterschelde:
Sal (CV) - Sal (CV)

01 December - 12 December 2016

Christmas comes early this year! Escape the dreary days of winter and join the Oosterschelde for a Journey of discovery around the Cape Verde Archipelago. On this Journey you’ll visit at least six islands, with on average one day of sailing in between. Spend your nights anchored in a bay, or sailing under the stars. Enjoy the constant ocean breeze, the sunny weather and the azure waters teeming with wildlife. Dive into the deep blue ocean or spend an afternoon windsurfing to your heart’s content. The landings are carefully selected and at most of the islands a local guide can help you discover the best places of the island. Spend an evening in a tavern to discover ‘funaná’ and ‘morna’ – two local music styles. Open to all ages, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Sal is one of the three sandy eastern islands of the Cape Verde archipelago, together with Boa Vista and Maio. The island is a dream destination for windsurfing enthusiasts, due to its sandy beaches and persistent winds. Tourism is on the rise in Cape Verde, but outside of the beach resort of Santa Maria the island retains its relaxed feel. Explore the quiet streets with their brightly colored houses, the blue eye cave, and the saline flats. The sun shines 350 days a year, so bring sunscreen!
