Viana do Castelo (PT) - Oostende (BE)

13 September - 22 September 2021

Homeward bound. Bring Patricia back to Belgium in this 9-day journey up the coast of Europe. Sail from sunny Portugal, across the Bay of Biscay and along the English Channel towards Oostende. Learn to set and trim the sails, steer, navigate (also by the stars!) and enjoy spending time out at sea. For all Windseekers aged 15+ Special offer for trainees sailing for a full price (26 and older): bring a friend and both of you will have a 10% discount!

Ports

Oostende is a seaport and tourist destination on the Belgian coast. The original belle époque architecture was largely destroyed by two world wars (and the advent of mass tourism), but the city still has plenty of worthwhile sights to see, such as the Mu.ZEE, the Petrus and Paulus church, and the fort Napolean. Visit one of the museums, check out the lively cultural agenda, and step in a Belgian tavern for a ‘pinteke’. And don’t forget the beach, which can be crowded in the summer!

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
