Tecla:
Papeete, Tahiti (PF) - Austral Islands (PF) - Rapa Nui (CL)

12 August - 11 September 2026

Over 3000 miles of open ocean, one ship, endless stories. This voyage from Tahiti to Rapa Nui (Easter Island) is a blue water journey like no other. Join Tecla in Papeete and set course southward – with her many sails and ocean-proven hull, the ship will carry you confidently into deep waters. Visit the remote Austral Islands, landing on an isolated Rapa to stretch your legs before embarking on the next part of your voyage. Chase the westerlies across the open ocean, embracing the silence, the swells, the stars. Reach Rapa Nui and watch as the ancient moai statues appear over the horizon while you make your way to Hanga Roa, your final port of call. Though the miles ahead number in the thousands, the voyage offers time to explore, reflect, and perhaps make landfall on one of Polynesia’s least-visited gems: the Austral Islands.
Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.

Itinerary

Day 1–2: Departure from Papeete. Set sail from Tahiti, adjusting course for the southern latitudes. The journey begins with the hum of the trade winds and the promise of the unknown.
Day 3–6: At Sea. Sailing south of the trades, begin to feel the pulse of the Pacific. Time slows. The rhythm of the watch system takes hold.

Day 7–9: Austral Islands. Weather and timing allowing, you might drop anchor at the mystical island of Rapa. Explore ancient stone fortresses, hike steep ridgelines, and meet locals in one of Polynesia’s most remote communities.
Day 10–27: Ocean Crossing to Easter Island. This is true blue water sailing. Days blend into nights. Learn celestial navigation, climb aloft, write, read, rest.

Day 28: Landfall at Rapa Nui. After more than 3,000 nautical miles, the cliffs of Easter Island appear. A moment of awe and accomplishment. Welcome ashore.

Please note: this itinerary is entirely weather-dependent and subject to change. The wind writes its own story—we follow its pages.

Ports

Papeete is a capital of Tahiti – the biggest island, as well as the cultural and political centre of French Polynesia. Enjoy the tropical vibes by spending a lovely day on a beach (white- or black-sanded!) Admire pearls and learn about their cultural history in the Robert Wan Pearl Museum. Take a stroll through the Papeete Municipal Market for a taste of local life and have a picnic in Paofai Gardens waterfront park.

Austral Islands (Tuhaa Pae) form one of the remote archipelagos of French Polynesia, offering a unique glimpse into preserved Polynesian traditions and a way of life largely untouched by mass tourism, due to a rather isolated location. Each island offers a new world of discovery: archaeological wonders, lush forests, traditional weaving, and intimate encounters with humpback whales who migrate here from Antarctic waters in July.

Rapa Nui – or Easter Island – is a remote island on the Pacific Ocean. It belongs to Chile. Famous for its hundreds of giant stone statues (Moai), Rapa Nui is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Go diving with the underwater Moai, admire the Milky Way at night without the light pollution, explore the Anthropological Museum and try the local specialties for an all round experience.
