Tecla:
Puerto Montt (CL) - Galapagos (EC)

11 April - 15 May 2026

From the rugged fjords of southern Chile to the enchanted waters of the Galápagos, this voyage is a rare opportunity to experience the open Pacific, visit off-the-chart islands, and sail in the spirit of the great explorers. Leave Patagonia behind and set course for the Juan Fernández Archipelago to stretch your sea legs before embarking on an extended ocean passage to the Galápagos Islands, where strange creatures and ancient lava flows tell stories older than time. Due to strict environmental rules, the Tecla is permitted to land on one island only – but that doesn’t limit your experience. From the anchorage, you’ll swim with turtles, snorkel among sea lions, and wake to the sound of frigatebirds overhead. If you’d like to explore further, local operators offer island day trips. This is not a cruise. This is a voyage. A bold crossing into nature, solitude, and surprise. From the Beagle’s shadow to Darwin’s legacy, your journey awaits.
Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.

Programme Outline

Day 1: Welcome Aboard in Puerto Montt. Meet your fellow voyagers, and settle into your cabin.
Day 2: Set Sail into the Pacific. Leave Puerto Montt and begin the journey northwest into open waters. Sails fill with fresh wind as the coast of Chile fades into memory.
Days 3–7: Make the first ocean crossing toward the storied Juan Fernández Islands. The days are filled with ocean rhythms: watch-keeping, meals, sails trimmed to perfection, stars scattered across the night sky.

Days 8–9: Robinson Crusoe Island (Juan Fernández). Landfall and exploration of San Juan Bautista.
Days 10–25 – Ocean Crossing: Into the Deep Blue. This is the heart of the journey. Over 1,500 nautical miles stretch ahead. Follow the Humboldt Current north, with seabirds overhead, dolphins in the bow wave, and the silence of the open sea. Days blend into a satisfying rhythm—seamanship, meals, reading, reflection, and night watches under infinite stars.

Days 26–27: Hull Cleaning Stop at the Equadorian coast - as required by Galápagos National Park regulations.
Days 28–32: Final Leg to the Galápagos Islands. A legendary destination lies just ahead.

Days 33–35 – Galápagos Islands (Anchored Exploration). We anchor near one of the few permitted landing sites. Here the wildlife comes to you—sea lions, turtles, rays, and birds all share these waters. Snorkel at sunrise, swim alongside marine creatures, and soak in the timeless volcanic scenery. Day trips with local guides offer the option to explore beyond. The Tecla becomes your home in one of the most enchanting anchorages on Earth.
