Twister:
Tenerife (ES) - Tobago (TT)

06 January - 07 February 2020

The price includes flights from and to the Netherlands. Expedition Horizon 1. Join the Twister for an ultimage sailing adventure with sustainability theme. Board the ship in the Canary Islands and set out for the journey to Cape Verde and across the Atlantic towards Caribbean. Explore the beautiful islands before making your way to Tobago, from where you will catch your flight back to Europe. Spend a month on board and learn to sail a traditional vessel. Set the sails, steer, navigate; fish and cook; relax. Fish for microplastics in the ocean and participate in global research. Give yourself over to the adventure: only the departure and arrival dates are set, otherwise you will go where the wind takes you. Enjoy the digital detox, out of mobile service for many days at a time. Become one with nature and find yourself again. Open to Windseekers aged 17-35.

Ports

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, and a popular tourist destination. One of the largest Carnival festivals is hosted here, and for tourists there is a lot to see and do. But the island is large enough to escape mass tourism, so let its natural beauty seduce you to a hike or a drive around the island. You'll find mountains to climb, cliffs overlooking bays, and ravines. The 'Island of eternal spring' is just what you need if you arrive fresh from your Journey!

Tobago is an island within the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, an island state in the Caribbean. Much more relaxed than the bustling Trinidad, Tobago is a great place for nature-lovers and people who like to experience the slow local life. Visit Tobago Forest Reserve to take a trek through the rainforest, try water sports or simply relax on a sandy beach. You should also step into one of the many small restaurants and try the local specialties!
