Step on board the Morgenster in Port Vendres, on the Mediterranean coast of France for an epic journey of 26 days and 2,000 nautical miles! Sail over the Med, along the coast of Spain, and cross the Strait of Gibraltar, where Europe and Africa meet with only 13 km between them. Reach the Atlantic Ocean and change the tack to sail north along the west coasts of Portugal and Spain. Weather expectations depending, you will cross Biascay or head respectfully more west. Finally you will sail almost all the Channel to end up in Fecamp where a nice maritime festival will be starting. The places to stop along the way depend on the winds, but will likely include the Portuguese or Spanish coasts, and the Channel Islands. Are you ready for this adventure?

Ports

Port-Vendres is a fishing port on the Mediterranean coast of France, next to the Spanish border. This town of only 5,000 inhabitants is famous for its fish and seafood restaurants which you should visit for a lovely meal with a seaside view. Go to the Paulilles Recreational Park to spend the day in nature, a dynamite factory Dynamiterie de Paulilles located right on a beach or the Vinaigrerie la Guinelle to observe the pricess of making an organic vinegar.


Fecamp is a port town in the Normandy region of France. Its long-standing maritime and fishing traditions date back at least to the 10th century. Since then many Tall Ships have left Fecamp on cod fishing campaigns. It is also home to a Benedictine Fecamp Abbey, founded in middle ages. Its Palais Bénédictine is now open to visitors and well worth a visit. You can also simply enjoy the maritime atmosphere of the town, strolling down a beautiful harbour and having seafood in a local restaurants.
