Oosterschelde:
Tenerife (ES) - Palmeira (CV)

09 December - 17 December 2025

The journey from Tenerife to Cape Verde is almost guaranteed to have ideal sailing conditions! The winds and currents will give you an extra push, ensuring excellent speed and beautiful weather. The waters are full of wildlife, including flying fish, turtles and sometimes even whales. Join the watch system, which follows a 4-hours-on, 8-hours-off schedule. On deck, you will help with trimming the sails, steering, and navigation. Those who wish may climb the mast (with safety equipment and guidance) to experience the breathtaking view of the ocean like a true sailor. Before you know it, the coastline of Sal will appear on the horizon. Anchor in Palmeira Harbour, clear customs, and celebrate your final night with a festive meal and music.
This journey is a part of a delivery voyage to Cape Verde. Join multiple legs of this voyage for a 15% discount. You can stay on board in the days in between the sailing legs.
Open to all Windseekers aged 18+. Younger trainees, accompanied by an adult, at request.

Ports

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, and a popular tourist destination. One of the largest Carnival festivals is hosted here, and for tourists there is a lot to see and do. But the island is large enough to escape mass tourism, so let its natural beauty seduce you to a hike or a drive around the island. You’ll find mountains to climb, cliffs overlooking bays, and ravines. The ‘Island of eternal spring’ is just what you need if you arrive fresh from your Journey!

Palmeira is the third-largest town in Cape Verde, situated on the island of Sal, yet it still retains that cosy small village atmosphere. When you land in Palmeira you will have just completed a crossing over the Atlantic waters. Whilst resting in Palmeira, visit some bars and restaurants to try local specialties, or explore further to desert Oases, caves and beaches.
