Thalassa:
Le Havre (FR) - Brest (FR)

27 June - 08 July 2027

Set sail from Le Havre and spend twelve days on board the Thalassa, heading westwards towards Brest. Along the way there will be enough time to wander and explore. Brest as an end point is fixed, but the route leading there leaves room for intermediate stops. You will sail with the wind, taking into account the strong tidal currents of the English Channel. Sometimes this means steady progress, at other times a deliberate detour. On this voyage sailing itself takes centre stage. The destination provides direction but the journey is equally important. Allow yourself to be carried by the wind of the day and step aboard this expedition.
Open to all Windseekers over 18 years of age.

Ports

Le Havre is a large north French maritime commercial and passenger port established in the early XVI century. The city in on the UNESCO World Heritage Site for its historical buildings and is considered a birthplace of impressionism. Walk in the steps of Monet and discover the places you know from modern art. Take a hiking tour, visit one of the nearby castles (chateau), the Graville abbey, see the hanging gardens or take a walk in one of the many city parks.

Brest is a major French port on the Atlantic coast, historically of strategic importance. Much of the town was destroyed during World War II, but some historic landmarks remain. Today Brest is an important navy port, so expect to see war ships berthed in the harbor. Every four years, Brest hosts the international festival of the sea, boats and sailors, with many Tall Ships attending. South of Brest you will find national park d’Armorique, a tranquil reserve where you can escape from the city.
